Firm Profile and History

Sonneborn Rutter is a full service law firm focusing on civil, commercial and healthcare litigation. Founded in 1983, our firm holds the prestigious “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory representing the highest rating for legal ability and adherence to ethical standards, professional reliability and diligence.

We are one of Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest insurance defense firms and although over the years faces have changed, the firm continues to maintain its reputation as one of the premier medical malpractice defense firms in the State of Florida. The addition of highly qualified Nurse Paralegals has only enhanced the firm’s ability to respond to our client’s needs.

“We are dedicated to providing the highest quality legal representation to our clients.”

Sonneborn Rutter is proud of the reputation we have built for delivering high-quality legal services. Our clients choose our firm because we are committed to developing long lasting relationships and they know they can rely upon the exceptional skills and experience of our attorneys.

Our firm attorneys are strong in trial practice, having successfully tried numerous cases to verdict. Sonneborn Rutter attorneys have served as first chair trial lawyers in some of the most complicated of legal matters in Florida courts. The firm believes that there is no real substitute for experience and each of our experienced trial lawyers add substantial value during the discovery and pretrial phases of each and every case.

The appellate practice at Sonneborn Rutter is fully integrated with the litigation practice, with an appellate attorney committed to each case well in advance of trial so as to identify legal issues and to be a member of the trial team.

In all of the medical litigation cases, the trial team consists of an assigned attorney and members of each support area along with an in-house medical professional who provides case analysis, expert witness services or other specialized expertise. Regular team meetings are scheduled to discuss case strategy.

Legal counsel is offered in all areas of civil trial and appellate practice, including complex legal and medical issues, as well as personal injury/wrongful death litigation in State and Federal Courts.
